What counts as a business day?
By default, Monday through Friday. You can pick any custom set of workdays (for example, Sunday–Thursday). Weekend days and excluded dates are not counted.
Does it exclude US federal holidays?
Optionally yes. Toggle “Exclude US federal holidays” and the calculator removes the observed federal holidays for the years in your range, with Saturday/Sunday holidays observed on the adjacent weekday.
What is inclusive vs exclusive counting?
Inclusive counts both your start and end dates when they are business days. Exclusive skips both endpoints — useful when you only want the days in between.
Can I add or subtract workdays from a date?
Yes. Switch to “Add / subtract workdays,” enter a start date and a number of days (negative to go backward), and the calculator skips weekends and your exclusions to land on the result date.
Can I exclude my own dates?
Yes. Add custom dates (YYYY-MM-DD) in the exclusions box, one per line, and they will be skipped in both counting and adding modes.
